Nami Face Mask
The pirate Nami was the pilot of the Straw Hat crew. She was the third member of the group and the second one joined. She was formerly a member of the Arlong Pirates. Nami initially joined the Straw Hats to steal them for her real pirates in order to buy back her village from Arlong, but later actually joined the Straw Hats after they rebelled and defeated Arlong. Her dream is to create a map of the whole world. Currently, Nami has a wanted rate of 66,000,000 Beri.
Nami Face Mask
Nami is a slim girl of average height, orange hair, and brown eyes. Most people find Nami very attractive, even beautiful. She has a black (anime blue) tattoo on her left shoulder, representing mikan and pinwheel (a homage to Bell-mère, Nojiko, and Genzo).
Nami’s fashion style changes frequently according to her hairstyle. On the left wrist is the Log Pose used to locate the ship along with a gold bracelet that Nojiko (Nami’s sister) gives. Before Timeskip, Nami had short hair, with lots of 4-digit word t-shirts such as GOLD or EVIL, and outfits changed with each Arc. However, after Timeskip, Nami’s hair has grown longer, and the ring has grown larger. She also regularly wears bikinis with tight pants to show off her proud hourglass body.
Overall, Nami is one of the brightest members of the Straw Hat crew (along with Nico Robin) and the third smartest character in East Blue. Often seen reading between chapters.
At the beginning of the series, Nami hates all pirates, seeing them as the villains who have stolen their loved ones. She also does not believe in mysteries and legends such as the Devil Fruit, Skypiea Island, and the connection between Sanji and the Germa 66 army. However, these views gradually change as Nami meets Luffy.
Nami is a careful, somewhat shy person. If she thinks an island is dangerous, she usually tries to persuade Luffy (usually along with Usopp and Chopper) not to go there, but anyway, she will follow Luffy’s orders when he asks.
However, many also said that she is a “strong woman” when willing to stand up for her team and what Nami believes is right. She was the only one in the Straw Hat crew to show concern and annoyance as their bounty increased while the others reacted indifferently and even considered it fun.
Nami is deeply affected by the death of her adoptive mother and Arlong’s imprisonment and slavery. The mistreatment, starvation, and exhaustion of trying to steal money to buy the village from Arlong deeply haunted her.
Nami is a money enthusiast, willing to do anything for money and treasure, except for selling teammates, accepting the challenges that come, rooted in her difficult childhood. She has five control over the pirate’s spending and is willing to debit her teammates for small things.
Nami’s loan interest rate is 300%. Besides, she is also a brave person, ready to fight those who hurt her teammates, giving up her habit of avoiding danger. Besides her impression of a strong girl, Nami is also a compassionate person.
She is the most emotional member of the Straw Hat, quickly showing sympathy when hearing sad things about others while also forgiving others easily.
Nami loves her adoptive mother Bell-mère and has a number of personalities influenced by her. Bell-mère is also very supportive of Nami as she expresses her dream of mapping the world and has always praised her mapping skills. However, despite loving Bell-mère, Nami still finds it difficult to accept her mother as a mother because she knows she is only an adopted child.
Bell-mère sacrificed his own life to ensure the safety of Nami and Nojiko before Arlong. This has hurt Nami a lot and at the same time makes her hate Arlong and always tries to assassinate him. After actually joining the Straw Hat crew, she felt free again and chose the mandarin tattoo in honor of Belle-mere and a garland for Genzo to hide the old one.
Pirates of the sea
Initially, Nami was happy to join the group but became more and more reluctant to learn that Luffy was a pirate because she hated pirates. After Arlong’s defeat, she officially joined the crew and completely changed her mind about her teammates.
Although Nami was only a pilot, the rest of the crew, including the captain, followed her orders without question while on board, as they believed in her instincts, knowing that she will stay away from danger, and head towards the next location.
